On Thursday, 19 June 2025, a memorial in honour of Gino Mäder will be inaugurated on the Albula Pass – two years after his tragic accident. The ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m., before the start of the 5th stage of the Tour de Suisse in La Punt, and marks the official launch of the rideforGino association.

The sculpture ‘verbunden sein’, designed by Swiss artist Gügi Eugster – Gino’s uncle – stands directly at the scene of the accident. It is made of regional granite and symbolises connection, remembrance and the future. The sculpture was financed by the cyclists’ association CPA (Cyclistes Professionels Associés) and the Tour de Suisse, which donated the prize money from the stages to Weinfelden and the memorial ride to Oberwil-Lieli that were cancelled after the accident.

The rideforGino association was founded by Gino’s family in 2023 to continue his commitment to environmental and climate protection.

Since 2025, a separate office – under the management of crossroads Event und Kommunikation GmbH – has been responsible for the professional coordination of the fundraising campaigns on a part-time basis.
