After the tragic accidental death of Gino Mäder during the Tour de Suisse stage to La Punt (GR) on 16 June 2023, Gino’s family founded an association to continue their son’s interests.

In addition to cycling, Gino’s main interests were nature conservation and sustainability education. The sale of rideforGino socks generated the first income, which was channelled into supporting projects.

RhineCleanUp regularly organises clean-up days along the longest river in Europe. CHF 3,000 was donated for the event in Basel, which will take place in September 2025. This will pay for tools and equipment as well as catering for the volunteers.

crossroads Event und Kommunikation GmbH acts as the organisation’s office and coordinates the interests of the association in the interests of Gino Mäder’s family.
